I have an 8 year old niece that I have no idea what to get her for Christmas?! Please help! She loves to be outside, not too much into tv, just a normal little 8 year old. Any ideas from you guys would be awesome!
Thank you!
Katie
Katie, I have a friend that let her daughter browse on http://www.target.com for gifts. It got a little out of hand when her daughter wanted EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING, but my friend learned to say “pick 10-15 things that you might want” and we will see if Santa (or I) can get you ONE of those items. She doesn’t know you’ll get her more than one
This could be a good idea for your daughter…I got my son a little mini coupe from Target the other day for only $149.99 and it’ll keep him outside. I can’t find the one I bought him, but it’s like this (electric, etc): http://www.target.com/John-Deere-Gator-By-Peg-Perego/dp/B001CO1XJU/ref=br_1_9?ie=UTF8&id=John%20Deere%20Gator%20By%20Peg-Perego&node=363859011&searchSize=30&searchView=grid5&searchPage=1&sr=1-9&qid=1291674285&rh=target_com_age%3A8%20-%209%20years&searchBinNameList=price%2Ctarget_com_category-bin%2Ctarget_com_age%2Ctarget_com_gender-bin%2Ctarget_com_character-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&searchRank=salesrank&frombrowse=1
Katie, I have some recommendations, but it depends on what her interests are.
-bug catchers.
-new bike.
-a recent movie or two that has come out on DVD.
-a music CD that she would be into (you can use lyrics.com to check certain songs and see if the songs are appropriate).
-a kid tent for inside her room where she can hang out with a friend (girl of course) or read.
-this might be crazy, but what about a pet? Hamster, kitty?
-if she is into sports, she may want a soccer ball, etc.
Here is something I think I will do this year for MY parents/son’s grandparents:
1…..i’m going to have my son (3yr old) draw/paint something on paper.
2…..go to Michael’s (they have the BEST frames and prices) and frame that sucker.
My son’s grandparent’s will LOVE this!!!!!! I didn’t even realize I wan going to do this until I saw “Gift Ideas” on this website….it got me thinking! LOVE THIS WEBSITE! I have more solutions to post (I just posted in the routine category btw).
Audrey..
i did something similar…
had my 2yr old (at the time) finger/body paint on a large poster board, it gets messy so i let him do paint on the kitchen floor where i can watch him and clean up easily. took pictures while he was in the midst of the whole fun mess printed those out and put them in a frame purchased @ michaels. every time someone see’s it they ask if they can have one of those special paintings. he’s 3 1/2 now and still make’n them!!! now he’s not using his whole body just his fingers and hands, and still has fun doing it!
