My acid reflux only strikes at night. Nothing quite like waking up and having to swallow the contents of your stomach very quickly…*ugh* Not being a fan of taking lots of pills here’s my ‘do it yourself’ fixes. Now, if it’s a really bad attack, I take a Zantac.

    Here’s what I do:

If it’s mild, sleep on your left side. The curvature of your stomach makes it so that your less likely to have an attack that way. If the attack is severe enough….

Sleep sitting up. Or as inclined as you are comfortable with. I will put several pillows into a wedge shape and sleep like that. It usually does the trick.

My friend’s son had really bad reflux, she would elevate his cot matress by placing a pillow under one side. Did the trick for her.
